The Unschool is an award-winning global knowledge lab for professionals looking to activate positive change through their careers. Founded by UNEP Earth Champion, Dr. Leyla Acaroglu, The UnSchool helps people think in systems, understand sustainability, bust cognitive biases, embrace the Circular Economy, and more. It has run in-person fellowships in more than twenty cities across six continents and thousands of people have taken its online classes and workshops.

I worked hand-in-hand with Leyla to launch the UnSchool and its parent company, Disrupt Design LLC, in 2014. Over the three years we worked together, I took the lead on everything that fell under the communications umbrella. That involved website copy, content strategy, newsletters, blog posts, campaign strategy and promotion for new offerings, social media, alumni engagement, partnership management, event production, editing Leyla’s brilliant books and Op-Eds, an overfunded Kickstarter campaign, media outreach, and more.

Disrupt Design creates tools and runs workshops to help companies and organizations work towards a more sustainable, equitable, and circular future. Its list of clients and collaborators includes Ellen Macarthur Foundation, AIGA, IDEO, Google, OxFam, UNEP, and more.
